Woman Discovers She Got Pregnant With An IUD For A Second Time
In rare cases, they can fall out and are more likely to move if a uterus is an unusual size.
For Scharon, an IUD has appeared ineffective as this is her second time getting pregnant while using the device. She had previously gotten pregnant with it in, and just as she recently went for check-ups, the Ultrasound tech was shocked to find a pregnancy sac next to the IUD.
Scharon documented her reaction, and in the clip, she was seen as she performed an ultrasound on herself.
She then leaned in forward to get a better look before she pulled her mask down and uttered the words: “What the f**k?” The video had equally carried a text that read: “When I’m doing my monthly IUD location check-up at work because I’ve been pregnant with one before. And I see a pregnancy sac next to my IUD.”
It had been captioned: “Not again.” Alongside the hashtag #IUDPregnancy, #IUDBaby, and #Birthcontrolproblems.

Scharon’s situation has since gone viral, attracting over seven million views. Many of her audience, who uses IUDs, have been left terrified and taken to the comments to share their opinions. One person wrote: “What works? I’m sitting and crying, at this point, I’m thinking radical hysterectomy.” Another said: “I do not claim this energy.”
A third stated: “Girl no ma’am, don’t do this. I’m checking tomorrow when I go in now.” A fourth added: “Mines been working hard don’t put that energy on me.”
Some shared similar stories of conceiving while on birth control.
And a few weighed in with success stories with IUDs.
However, Planned Parenthood had reported fewer than one out of 100 people who use an IUD would get pregnant yearly. But they had also written: “IUDs are so effective because there’s no chance of making a mistake. You can’t forget to take it (like the pill) or use it incorrectly (like condoms). And you’re protected from pregnancy 24/7 for three to 12 years, depending on which kind you get.”
