Woman, 43, Stands Up In Church And Forces Pastor To Admit Of Grooming Her As A Teen

Pastor John Lowe II witnessed the unexpected after preaching to his congregation about his past deeds at the New Life Christian Church. The 65-Year-Old informed the church he sinned 20years ago [ he was then aged 38] by committing adultery, without sharing how old the woman or girl was. 

He begged his congregation to forgive him and so received a standing ovation. 

But in a shocking scene, Bobi Gephart, 43, stormed towards the stage with a microphone and told the church, situated in Warsaw, Indiana, how pastor John had groomed her as a teenager, from when she was 16, the legal age of consent in the state. “For 27 years, I lived in a prison. I loved in a prison of lies and shame. Lying to protect the Lowe Family.”

“For years I thought I was a horrible person, having suicidal thoughts and not realizing what had been truly done to me. I would still be in prison if my brother had not just approached me two weeks ago with what he had seen as a teenager that bothered him all these years; his pastor in bed with his younger sister,” Bobi [pictured below with her husband] explained. 

She turned to Pastor John and continued: “I was just 16 when you took my virginity on your office floor. Do you remember that? I know you do.”

“You did things to my teenage body that should have never been done. If you can’t admit the truth, you have to answer to God. You are not the victim here.” Bobi’s husband Nate then added: “This is a lie. This is not just adultery. It’s another level. It happened nine years. When she was 15, 16, the grooming started.” Nate presented a pearl necklace that his wife had been given by the church and a purity ring he said the pastor gave her during the affair. 

He returned both items and said the pair weren’t stretching the truth and urged other women to return the same gifts of the ministry to return them too. 

As the couple stormed off the stage, the pastor was instantly faced with angry calls from the congregation. “We need to hear from our pastor!” One person commented. Another said: “If you did it, you need to admit it!” Picking up the microphone, Pastor John said: “I told you I committed adultery and that it went on far too long.” In response, a church member shouted: “You didn’t tell us she was 16.” 

Since Indiana’s legal age of consent is 16, John [pictured with his wife Debbie] isn’t likely to face criminal charges for the relationship. But he has since stepped down from the church and has been scrubbed from its website. 

However, the church has also released a public statement, stating that for 42years, New Life has preached a cross-driven message of repentance, forgiveness, and restoration, a ministry of reconciliation that has been both led and modeled by Pastors John and Debbie Lowe. They added that as healing occurs in their hearts, marriage, and family, they remain committed to demonstrating the same support, counsel, and forgiveness that has come to define this body’s collective heart and ministry.
