‘My Last Tweet’: Woke Actress Jameela Jamil Quits Twitter After Elon Musk Buys It
The entrepreneur raised an important question.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is accusing Tesla CEO Elon Musk after Twitter confirms that they have accepted his $44 billion offer to buy off the company. A reporter for New York Times had pointed out that Tesla’s second-biggest market is China.
He later answered his own question with “probably not” and leaned towards a let’s-observe-as-this-evolves stance.
It’s not an overstatement to say that Twitter is shaken by the changing ownership as Musk, an avid Twitter user himself, has been campaigning for free speech on the platform. Thousands of users have reacted to the breaking news, with some claiming they’re quitting.
Bezos, who started his spaceship business Blue Origin in 2000, was said to have “largely ignored” Musk’s advice when they first met in 2004 at a dinner event, as written by Christian Davenport in his book, ‘The Space Barons.’ The 50-year-old billionaire said that he did his best “to give good advice” at the time.
The competition between the two continues as they keep taking over each other in the richest man position.
He wasn’t alone in questioning the situation. Actor and producer Rob Reiner also shared his thoughts.
Meanwhile, actress Jameela Jamil showed distaste for the new owner and decided to leave the platform altogether.
Star Trek actor George Takei decided to remain and saw it even more necessary to stick around if “this place become more toxic.”
MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reid quoted the man with a scathing tweet that he wants people to say so his “‘free speech’ people can harass you for fun.”
Reactions have continued to pour in, with thousands excited about the prospect of a free-speech platform but others dreading the change in how things are run with Musk at the helm.
