US President Joe Biden Falls Off Bike During Delaware Ride, Says “I’m Good”

A White House official also confirmed he didn’t require medical attention.

Joe Biden and first lady Jill were both wrapping up a morning ride over the weekend when the 79-Year-Old opted to pedal over to a crowd of onlookers at Cape Henlopen State Park near his beach home in Delaware. The US President donned a helmet as he took the spill, but just as he tried to dismount, he fell on his right side and rolled onto his back.

He quickly collected himself and spent minutes chatting with people who had gathered to watch him a bike.

“I’m good,” Biden told reporters after Secret Service Agents helped him. He was unhurt as he added: “I got my foot caught” in the toe cages. Being the oldest US President, Biden’s health remains the subject of constant attention, especially as speculation rises on whether he will seek a second term in 2024.

Taking a few questions from reporters, Biden also told reporters he was in the process of making up his mind about easing some Trump-era tariffs on Chinese goods to soften inflationary pressures.

He added he would be speaking to Chinese President Xi Jinping soon concerning the matter. When asked if he was satisfied with the progress on gun legislation after the mass shootings in Texas and New York, Biden said he was happy with action by his home state of Delaware, which passed on a ban on assault-style weapons.

However, following the incident, a White House official confirmed the President was fine and didn’t require medical attention.

The official also claimed the President looks forward to spending time with his family at their Rehoboth Beach Home. This isn’t the first time Biden has experienced a fall. In 2020, before taking office, he had broken a foot while playing with his German Shephards. A year later, in November 2021, his doctors gave him a clean bill of health and described Biden as healthy and vigorous.

On the other hand, Biden and Jill last Friday marked their 45th wedding anniversary.
