Two Mexican Guys Found A Method Of Turning Cactus Into Leather That Looks & Feels Like Real

Leather is a valuable product traded more than any other across the world. It’s in fact an industry that’s worth billions. But the issue most environmentalists and animal rights activists have is that it involves harsh chemicals and animal products.
The aforesaid problem is now solved as two entrepreneurs from Mexico have managed to make a leather alternative that’s extremely realistic and eco-friendly. Marte Cazarez and Adrian Lopez have used the most unimaginable resource: Cactus to replace the use of Synthetic materials and animal leather.

This newly-found method makes vegan leather out of Cactus leaves a realistic thing. Called the Desserto, (the patented fabric) the entrepreneurs planted the Cacti on their plantation in the Mexican State of the Zacatecas, which of course grew to have thick and rugged skin – similar to that of the animal leather.
The pair were working in the Fashion and Furniture Automotive Industries when they observed that environmental pollution is a severe problem. They got inspired, thought-deep and brought out the best result. – The Vegan Leather.
The friends quit from their jobs and dedicated a few years of dedication, about two whole years before creating their marketable Vegan Leather in 2019 – precisely in July. The plant –Cactus doesn’t, however, require much water to grow and its strong handling of low temperature without dying makes it suitable as an alternative.
On the other hand, the vegan leather is regarded to be highly sustainable and has no toxic chemicals. Presently, the company offers a wide variety of textures, thickness, colors and one of the best things about vegan leather is that it feels and appears like real leather.
