Tristan Thompson Is Now Paying Maralee Nichols Child Support & Has Made No Attempt To Meet Him
It’s retroactive to the date she delivered the child.
The basketball player, Tristan Thompson, is reportedly paying Maralee Nichols child support for their son Theo. It comes as Nichols had earlier this year said in a public statement that Tristan had done nothing and provided zero financial assistance.
Nichols then sued the athlete for child support, reimbursement of medical expenses & pregnancy-related costs.
As per documents revealed exclusively by DailyMail, Theo was conceived in Houston, Texas, during Thompson’s 30th birthday celebration in March, when he was still dating Khloe Kardashian, with whom he shares a daughter, True, 4, and now a son, whose name is yet to be revealed.
Tristan is also a dad to a 5-Year-Old Prince with ex-Jordan Craig. The duo welcomed him in 2016.
According to Page Six, an attorney for Tristan has alleged the 31-Year-Old is ‘paying and has paid child support to Ms. Nichols retroactively to the date she delivered the child.’ An insider also told the publication: “Tristan has still made no attempt to meet his 8-Month-Old son. It was not until recently that Tristan started paying child support.”
The NBA star, who welcomed a son with Khloe, 38, via surrogate, has indeed stepped up financially but hasn’t met with his baby boy.
Tristan had previously denied being the father until the result of DNA proved otherwise, prompting him to take to Instagram with a statement apologizing to Khloe. At the time, he said: “Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years.”
However, Khloe, who had split from Tristan in January, is reportedly on cloud nine weeks after the birth of their second child.
A source told PEOPLE: “Khloe is on cloud nine. Getting a sibling for True has been such a journey. She’s very excited to be a mom again. She wanted a baby boy.” Notably, the news of the newborn broke on July 13th, about seven months after their last breakup. The split resulted from the news that Tristan fathered a child with Nichols.
