The Weeknd’s Creepy New Look In His Latest Music Video Left Fans Hilariously Stunned
Horrifying for some, masterpiece for most.
It has only been six days into 2021, and 30-year-old vocalist of The Weeknd Abel Makkonen Tesfaye appeared as what many dubbed ‘Abel Kardashian.’ His lips were pouting as if he just had a lip filler; his makeup had the perfect contour that makes him look like the Barbie Ken.
The Canadian singer dropped the single ‘Save Your Tears’ full of shades.
He was hinting at his newest single when he appeared bandaged on the face on AMA 2020, as if he was celebrating a late Halloween. His ‘aesthetics’ on the MV seems to be a reference to plastic surgery and botox injections to the face.
Abel performed on stage with a seemingly ‘fake face’ as he treats his guests disrespectfully. Then, he ends it all with confetti.
His guests were unrecognizable – they were all masked as if they were attending a mask party. Abel then jumped down the stage and walked around to ‘interact’ with the guests. But not in manners one usually expect: he drinks from their glass, rests his arm on another’s head, and spill drinks on their face.
‘You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency’ the ‘Starboy’ hitmaker once wrote.
The Canadian singer once openly reveals his disappointment and called out Grammy’s as ‘corrupt.’ In response, Recording Academy interim chief Harvey Mason, jr wrote to Rolling Stone:
“We understand that the Weeknd is disappointed at not being nominated,’ he said. ‘I was surprised and can empathize with what he’s feeling. His music this year was excellent, and his contributions to the music community and broader world are worthy of everyone’s admiration.”
A love interest later appears, but he later put the gun on her hand.
Then he pulled the trigger himself which explodes into confetti that rains down the stage.
Previously, The Weeknd was able to snatch Best Urban Contemporary Album in 2018 with their ‘Starboy’ hit song.
