Teen TikToker Accidentally Got Her Mask Strap Pierced Into Her Ear By Icing Employee
This is a horror story indeed.
Nothing like getting the strap of a mask that you wore for protection stuck with you semi-permanently when you’re just out for a piercing. Sissy Sheridan, 16, went to get new piercings at Claire’s, not knowing a freak accident was about to happen. If you’re not familiar with her, she’s also the host of web series DIY With Me.
Since Sunday, this is the state she was in.
Sissy spoke to Buzzfeed how she went to Icing by Claire’s near her home in Sterling, Virginia. She went there with her close friend and mom, not forgetting to take a video of when she got her piercing as well. Her mother, Leisa, was not happy to see her girl’s ear lodged with the strap inside it.
Obviously, they asked for a refund, but the district manager demanded that they return the earring. But Sissy’s ear was sore and swollen. She can’t take the earring off because it’s so tight.
“She does the first one, which is the right ear, and that was the one [she got] the mask stuck in,” Sissy recalled. “I had no idea. I’m just sitting in the chair. I didn’t feel anything. There was no sign the mask had been punctured in the ear.”
But as she tried to take her mask off, she realized something was off. “I was like, mom, can you help me get it off? She’s trying to get it out. I’m like, oh my god, did she pierce the mask in my ear?”
Sharing it with her 3 million followers, she now sees this is quite the hilarious story.
Sissy’s mom, Leisa, is not happy with Claire’s response. “Her ear is obviously swollen and painful. … I do not want to pull the earring out while the cotton is still in her ear. I am shocked that they are arguing about the refund when they were clearly negligent.”
She decided to also upload when it all happened!
But Sissy did not want this to blow out further, said, “I don’t want anything happening to her; this was a freak accident.” In addition, she things businesses should really reconsider reopening their businesses while adapting to the new normal, which is a mandatory mask when out according to Virginia’s state law.
