Robert Pattinson’s most iconic role in his acting career is in the ‘Twilight’ saga and that can’t be denied. But if many of us try to recall how Edward Cullen looked in those movies, we can probably only recall his really mean and cold face. Which was also the reason that he was the heartthrob prince.
As cold-blooded, blood-sucking fellas who can’t enjoy the sun, we can’t really blame him and his family to be less of an excited one. But Pattinson has always been known for one that does serious characters in movies, even way before ‘Twilight’.
If any of us remember his role as Cedric Diggory in ‘Harry Potter’, we might be able to remember him as someone who’s less of a cold and more of that cool and cheery young lad. Well, he didn’t live long enough to show his more of a darker side.
The producers gave him copies of the book with parts where Cullen smiles highlighted. A lot of people were even warning that he was ‘acting himself out of job’. Speaking to Howard Stern on CNN, Pattinson revealed:
“If you’re going into a relationship with someone, the way to make it really intense is if you can barely talk to each other, you can barely touch each other, it’s incredibly serious all time. That’s what teenage relationships are. But everyone kind of wanted it to be, like, ‘No they should just be, like, happy and having fun. That’s what people want.'”
He added, “I thought I was pretty safe. They flew up and were, like, ‘You have to do the opposite of what you’re doing now or you’re going to get fired today.”
And now that he’s been signed up as the new Batman, we know that it’s just the right role for him in terms of facial expression. He might get much more darker with this one since it’s based on ‘The Long Halloween’.
