Rejoice: Taika Waititi Probably Won’t Keep Fat Thor For ‘Love And Thunder’

When we were first served a look of Thor who was settling down with his people on Earth post-snap, a lot were shocked in laughter. Chris Hemsworth had this belly beer and was continuously chugging on beer while playing Fortnite with his new friends from Sakaar. He even threatened a player with his God of Thunder status.

Well, his attitude was not surprising as it’s seen since his first appearance, but his look. That fat. That was shocking.

Speaking to Taika Waititi, Yahoo managed to get a bit of an insight into how Marvel sees this.

The ‘Love and Thunder’ director said, “This is an ongoing debate that we’re still having at Marvel cause we’re trying to figure out how long — how many months or years — this is after ‘Endgame’, at what point does this take place?”

“I think we always want to keep changing it up with Thor. He’s so interesting when he’s changing all the time,” he added. This sounds almost optimistic about Thor undergoing another change, perhaps one that includes ditching the fat suit, for his next movie.

Of course, the team will still have to figure out a lot of things, such as when this should take place what are the filler stories for missing characters (Natalie Portman) and ultimately, whether that beer belly is going away or not.
