‘People Say My Husband Is Out Of My League And Must Be Gay But He Loves Me’
They get trolled because she’s a plus-size woman.
Gina Miyares from Massachusetts is used to name-calling and insults. But it was particularly intense when the 28-year-old plus-size wife revealed her husband, Josh Miyares, whom many perceived as “out of her league.”
The Boston couple has been married for over three years now since August 2019 and is planning to add a family member. But they’ve unfortunately been facing fertility struggles and decided to share their story on social media.
Instead of solidarity, the couple has been flooded with rude comments from people who did not find sympathy in the couple struggling about fertility.
Gina shared, “I’ve had people say: ‘Oh wow, I’m surprised you two are together as Josh is so active and fit.’ People don’t understand how you can love someone plus-sized.”
“They even say I look like a man, which is ridiculous, or they think Josh is secretly gay and pretending to like me.”
However, Gina and Josh are not perturbed as they remain loved up for each other. In fact, Gina has pity for the trolls.
The school resident director added, “They don’t know what it’s like to feel unconditional love.”
The couple first met in 2017 as co-workers and were friends for a while. They started dating in May 2018 and things sped up from there. Just five months later, Josh already popped the question to Gina in October 2018. And as the man who truly loves his wife, Josh shared that he’s genuinely angry at the rude comments.
He shared, “It hurts to see people saying these things about my gorgeous wife. Sometimes, it does get to me when people are comparing down Gina’s appearance.”
Gina added, “What is hurtful is the assumptions made. Josh and I are just spending time together and in love. We’re secure in ourselves.”
The couple keeps a positive vibe on their social media, however, and continues on their quest to have a baby of their own!
