Olly Alexander Quits Modeling For Rihanna’s ‘Savage X Fenty’ After Johnny Depp Was Announced As Model For It
‘Thank you but after this news I won’t be wearing it anymore.’
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, Johnny Depp was recently announced as a model for “Savage X Fenty Vol. 4.” The 59-Year-Old would be walking in the show and this comes five months after he won his high-profile defamation case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. While his fans are excited, some people aren’t impressed.

Rihanna is particularly accused of being “out of touch” with the casting decision.
Accordingly, Olly Alexander has voiced a decision that he would no longer be working with Savage X Fenty.
The Years & Years singer alleged it decision emerged after it was announced that Depp would be partaking in the Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 show. The It’s a Sin star has worked with the brand as an ambassador and featured in their 2022 Valentine’s Day Campaign. On Twitter, Olly had first reacted to the casting with an unhappy face.
Then he wrote: “won’t be wearing it anymore,” after a fan pointed out, he wears the label so well.

Also, Olly liked a series of tweets branding Depp’s casting a disappointment.

During Depp’s VMAs appearance, BuzzFeed reported on the kind of impact a Depp comeback might have on victims of s*xual assault and domestic violence. The news outlet sought the opinion of Shanita Brown, a certified counselor, and East Carolina University teaching assistant professor. Shanita stressed that “this comeback is just another punch in the stomach and is gut-wrenching.”

She continued: “It reinforces this idea that abusers are not held accountable, that nobody will believe [survivors] and they shouldn’t speak up. It’s another slap in the face.”
TMZ was the first to report that Depp would appear at VMAs dressed as a Moonperson. A source close to the actor also confirmed it at the time, telling the New York Post that Depp is ready for his comeback. Currently, he’s shooting a feature film where he will play King Louis XV and is set to direct a movie coproduced by Al Pacino.

Dior has reportedly renewed its Sauvage contract with Depp, who has gone on tour with Jeff Beck.

Interestingly, Mads Mikkelsen, Depp’s Fantastic Beasts replacement has recently said Depp might return to his role in the franchise.
