Olivia Newton-John Passed Away At Age 73
“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope.”
Olivia Newton-John passed away at the age of 73 in her home in Southern California. She was in the presence of her family members and friends at the ranch when she breathed her last breath.
Her husband, John Easterling, broke the news on her social media pages.
He wrote, “We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continue with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.”
Many have paid tribute to the actress, but most prominently was her co-actor, John Travolta, in “Grease.”

Close friends and family of Olivia have been sending heartbreaking messages and tributes to the actress. Travolta called her “my dearest” in his post.

She is survived by her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, 36.
Chloe wrote on her post with a picture of herself with her mom, “I worship this woman. My mother. My best friend.” She continued to post pictures of Olivia’s younger years and herself.
The actress suffered from breast cancer that kept returning to her. She beat cancer twice before most recently learned of yet the same diagnosis in 2017. For the past few years, she has continued to campaign for animal rights and her charity online during the lockdown.
The former Eurovision contestant spoke of her disease, “It’s been a part of my life for so long.”

“I felt something was wrong. It’s concerning when it comes back, but I thought, ‘I’ll get through it again,'” she told The Guardian in 2020.
She added that her life has always been amazing, and she has “no complaints.” She’s simply living through something she has to go through, like everyone else. She said, “this has been my challenge.”
She was born the daughter of an MI5 agent, Newton-John. She made a name when she appeared in Allan Carr’s flick, “Grease.”
She famously refused the role, never imagining that the Australian would find her big break from the movie. She fought back against people who were criticizing the movie during the #MeToo movement, “It’s a movie. It’s a story from the 50s where things were different.”

“Everyone forgets that, at the end, he changes for her, too. There’s nothing deep in there about the #MeToo movement. It’s just a girl who loves a guy, and she thinks if she does that, he’ll like her.”

People are grieving the loss of a great Hollywood icon as many paid tribute to her.

The Academy also sent her a tribute, recalling how “Grease” was the highest-grossing film of 1978.

Barbra Streisand wrote on Instagram with a picture of them from times of old, “Too young to leave this world. May she RIP.”
Antonio Banderas wrote her, “Rest in peace, Olivia Newton-John. Deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.”
Really sad to hear about the passing of Olivia Newton-John. My first real crush as a kid. I loved Grease & her music & I coincidentally also bought & lived in for a while the wonderful home she built in Malibu. May she Rest In Peace. ❤️ https://t.co/gP10SJWqFZ
