New Video From Kim’s Met Gala Fitting Shows She Had To Wear A Coat As It Was Impossible To Zip The Dress
“Dear Lord. Should we sing Hallelujah or something?”
Kim Kardashian arrived at the Monday’s Met Gala wearing a Marilyn Monroe earlier owned dress. The glittering $4.8million dress was worn by the singer in 1962 when she sang “Happy Birthday” to then-president John F. Kennedy. The internet was no doubt amazed at seeing the dress once again, but many questioned how the look came to be.
A few were surprised to see Kim paired the dress with a white fur coat draped around her lower back.
Some speculated the furry addition might also have been a nod to Marilyn, who initially styled the dress with a white coat in the 60s.
But then the coat appeared to be more of a necessity than just an accessory!
A newly released clip, filmed ten days before the gala, has shown how a team of stylists struggled to squeeze the dress over Kim’s curves as she tried it on.
It was reportedly the SKIM’s Founder’s second attempt at wearing the dress amid a trip to Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum, where the multimillion-dollar gown was preserved in a temperature-controlled vault. Accompanied by BF Pete Davidson and hairstylist Chris Appleton, Kim, as seen in the clip, stood topless in the middle of a small room while a gloved assistant carefully shimmied the gown over her legs.
The group eventually landed into a hitch when they reached Kim’s b*tt, to which she exclaimed: “Dear Lord. Should we sing Hallelujah or something?”
The mom-of-four, at a point, got concerned the dress might get damaged and so enlisted the help of Chris and Pete, who offered a helping hand. “Kim, push it! Push your ass!” Chris instructed as the assistants grappled with the fabric, and Pete held his GF’s hands. Following some tedious work, the group managed to get the dress over Kim’s butt, but they couldn’t fasten the zip and instead secured the opening with a piece of string.
“Can we use that tie and tie it and keep it open? What if we did that and put a fur over it?” Kim asked with a beaming smile before adding, “Oh my God, we can maybe fake it?”
Pete and Chris approved Kim’s request, and instantly, the team moved out to conduct a step test to ensure Kim could make it up to the MET Gala while keeping the dress. Elsewhere, both Pete and Kim flaunt their dynamic as she jokingly asks him to remove the two hats he was wearing.
Of the PDA gesture seen in the video, both Pete and Kim’s fans have attested the pair seem relaxed and happy.

Earlier, Kim admitted she wanted to cry when the dress didn’t fit the first time she tried it months before the Met Gala. As a result, she resulted in a restrictive diet and exercise regime and ultimately dropped 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into Monroe’s dress. Despite the hurdles, Kim again proved if there’s a will, there’s a way.
