Mother Slams For Giving Her Baby A ‘Claw-Like’ Manicure
And rightfully so.
People with money love to shower their newborn baby with luxuries. The Kardashians love giving their young kids wear Versace and Hermes to the park and malls. Some people might prefer to bring their little kid to enjoy top-class service such as the spa.
Some mothers give their newborn babies a manicure. But this ‘trashy’ mom went a little overboard.
A picture of a newborn baby’s fingernails armed with one-inch long pointy-style manicures has gone viral on Facebook. Many people slam the mother who requested for the manicure to be done on newborn babies that may hurt themselves with those nails.
Young babies grow their nails fast (because they are still in growth stage and shorter fingers, hello?), hence they tend to hurt themselves with their nails if they are not trimmed properly. One mom tweeted, “Baby nails are sharp enough as is, I can’t imagine equipping my daughter with claws. Hard pass.”
The sample picture shared on Facebook appears to be fake nails, but all of them are too long, with two of them shaped really sharp at the end.
The reactions are harsh with many reminding others that these nails are dangerous.
On Reddit, the viral pictures have also received strong negative reactions. One explained, “You’re supposed to keep your baby’s nails cut short, so they don’t hurt themselves. This is trashy and freakin’ stupid.”
Another comment reads, “I could understand painting a babies’ nails, but giving them fake ones? It’s too dangerous! They constantly are touching their faces, so it could really do damage to their eyes. It’s better to wait until they are a lot older.”
People are calling this trend “trashy,” “stupid,” and “dangerous,” among many things. Some people said that these pictures could have been edited.
But this isn’t the first time; a few months ago, a similar picture was shared on Reddit that garnered similarly negative comments from people.
This picture circulated at the end of 2020 with people slamming the parent that let their baby has these nails.
Please clip your newborn babies’ and toddlers’ fingernails. Their developing nervous system can cause jerky movements even during sleep which is normal and common, as Parents explained. As such, if not trimmed properly, they may scratch and injure themselves with their fingernails.
