Mom Of Five Goes To Grocery Shopping Just Once Or Twice A Year

A mom regularly shares her grocery shopping haul every few months on her YouTube channel. But unlike other families, Tabitha actually only goes shopping a few times a year and films them when she does. And when she does, she spends thousands of dollars on daily necessities and food!

In her biggest haul ever from 2021, Tabita spent over $5.6k on her grocery shopping which includes a playset worth $500. She shared that she expects the stock to last the family around 6 to 8 months. Other times she spends about $3.7k on her shopping.

The mom-of-five shares in one of her videos, “We are a family of seven, and we have five kids, and this is just what works for us, not everybody would like to make this huge haul in one trip, but that’s just how we like to do it. We’re hoping about four to six months that this will last us.”

Tabitha spent on six bumper jars of olive oil, rice that would last them a year, 20 pats of butter, and ten dozen eggs in her $4k haul. She’s also got 22 packets of pasta, 95 bags of chips, 24 chicken breasts, and beef, enough for her to make 15 meals for the family.

“This Costco haul is like an all-day event. We headed out right away when they opened at 10 am; right now, it’s 4 pm, and we’re still going.”

Tabitha’s viewers are always curious how she manages her haul and how does she stock or put that much grocery away. She said in one of her haul videos, “By the time I’m done putting everything away, it will probably be nighttime.”

While showing off the grocery haul, things would often spill all over the house from the kitchen to the living room.

After storing most of the things away in the basement and freezer, there would often still be things that don’t fit in there and have to be temporarily put in the hallway or bathroom as they go through their stock.

“We are so grateful that we are able to buy this food for our entire family and feed them for months on end. It’s really worth it even though it takes all day,” shared the mom who’s expecting her sixth child now.

“This grocery haul will last my family-of-seven so long; we rarely go out to eat, so this is just what we needed.”

She shares that she gets a lot of criticisms from people who don’t see this as a viable method, but she is not bothered “one bit.” The mom says that she just genuinely loves sharing her family life and ginormous hauls, and she’s the one paying for their groceries, not anyone else.
