You cannot fight and win a battle if you’re hungry. Some of us have heard that people who are part of the military are handed out rations they can carry to recharge wherever they are stationed. But none of us have ever seen what these rations actually look like!
So, Youtuber David Hong decided to get rations from different countries in order to compare the content. The revelation was pretty surprising as some soldiers eat really well and a lot while others have only enough in their ration.
English soldiers have muesli oats with milk and a wide range of beverages from sports drink to coffee and tea. They didn’t forget the deserts; sweets, fruitcake and oatmeal cookie are included!
Chinese get rice and sausage with hot sauce. They also have cake and fruit for appetizers.
The Russians are given apple sauce, pea stew with meatball and bacon. They also get crackers and rice with peas and meat.
Poland provides chicken casserole with pepper, hardtack and a lot of sweets such as candies, gums, condensed milk and raisins.
Germans have hazelnut pudding, Rindfleischlyoner grob, pea stew and muesli with oat milk and fruits. Don’t forget the crackers!
Spanish gets tuna with beef and peas as well as vegetable soup and pate. They also include toothpaste in it! The drink is vitamin C.
Croatians get sardines beans, beef soup and turkey pate with liver spread. They also get chocolate and fruits like papaya and pineapple. Salted crackers is a must!
Americans get skittles, yep. Plus energy drink with grape flavoring. The main dish is macaroni and chili. And crackers!
Italians’ breakfast include biscuits with chocolate and jelly. They get torellini with beef and fruit salad for lunch and then crackers and tuna with soup for supper.
Lithuania provides chicken rice with soup and tea. They also get to snack on chocolate, hazelnut and crackers!
Kazakhstan soldiers are provided with pate, squash, rice and corned beef with soup. They also get tea and jam.
Frenchmen are given terrine forestiere, crackers and nougats. Muesli, oats and fruits included for healthy munchies. Braised hams and crozets et diots for the calories and proteins.
Ukrainians have rice and beef with iced tea and biscuits. The lunch has pate and pork with sugary drink. Supper comes with pate, tuna and iced tea! And biscuits again. (spoon included!)
Canadians get hot chocolate, orange drink and coffee (complete with creamer!). There’s banana flavored oatmeal, apple slices and baked beans.
