Man Gifts Mormon Parents Obi-Wan Kenobi Portrait -Mom Thinks It’s Jesus Christ, So She Hangs It

Nobody on earth has heard about ‘Star Wars.’ But it’s also true that some’ve never given the movies a glimpse. They probably don’t even know the actors and actresses, particularly the elderly – our parents.

It’s close to being something that people worship as a religion. It probably became one when a portrait of Obi-wan Kenobi was hung in a home…

…as a portrait of Jesus Christ.

Ryan Buchanan from Utah laid the foundation of probably the best Christmas-Star Wars prank ever on his parents. In 2018, a video of him giving his parents a Christmas present and the unwrapping went viral. Why people were chocking after the fact that it was a portrait of Obi-wan Kenobi, and the oblivious couple had thought it was Jesus.

I mean, if Jesus looked good, that’s a pretty honest compliment one can give to Ewan McGregor.

That portrait was wrapped nicely in a Christmas theme. The parents looked satisfied as they held the portrait of Ewan McGregor/Jesus in their hands. The Mormon couple just had to compliment how beautiful the portrait looked. His mom even pointed out the mole.

It was one of the most iconic portraits of Obi-wan Kenobi acted by Ewan Gordon McGregor in his full Jedi attire.

That is one well-made portrait.

The portrait was later hung on the walls of his religious parents’ home. If there’s one thing for sure, however, is that he probably did not calculate that they’d be so thrilled about the present. And that it’s only a matter of time before they figure it out.

…or maybe they’ll never know? Ryan definitely looked amused here.

He wrote on Reddit, “I’ve made a huge mistake. Mom loves her Jesus Christmas present and I’m not sure how to get out of this thing alive when she figures out.”

He shared the video on YouTube as proof and it’s reached almost 400k views. On Reddit, he’s gained 109k upvotes.

Such a prankster, all begun when he saw another Redditor commenting about the portrait reminds him of Jesus’ portraits. There were several who really gave advice on how to downplay the revelations in case his mom goes ballistic, like preparing an actual portrait of Jesus to redeem himself.

Several people are ‘inspired’ to switch out their Jesus’ portrait as well.

But the best part was probably when Mormon used the same portrait for their Sunday program cover.

Just imagine if his mom saw this same portrait on the Sunday program cover. She might never believe people who say that’s Ewan McGregor or a Star Wars character.

We hope Ryan survives the onslaught after his parents found out.
