‘The best day turned into a nightmare’
A Louisiana man got drowned while trying to make an underwater marriage-proposal to his girlfriend during their dream vacation in Tanzania.
Steven Weber Jr., of Baton Rouge, has passed away this week while proposing to Kenesha Antoine – His girlfriend underwater in Tanzania. Weber was an RA at Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center.

Antoine, who is an attorney shared the tragic event on her Facebook page on Friday with videos and pictures captured from the scene.
She wrote a caption that reads: ‘There are no words sufficient enough to honor the beautiful soul that is Steven Weber, Jr. You were a really bright light to every human being you encountered. You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my response. Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you.’

Antoine posted photos and video of the proposal in a Facebook post
She added: ‘We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives as one. And the best day of our lives turned into a nightmare, in the cruelest twist of fate imaginable.’
In the footage, Weber appeared swimming underwater and a holding a Ziploc bag with a handwritten note.
A side of the note reads: ‘I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. But…. Everything I love about you I love more every day.’ And on the back, Weber popped up the question to Antoine ‘Will you marry me.’

After which he pulled out a ring and opened a box and Antoine happily laughed in the background.
Reacting, the U.S Department official on Friday revealed that the department is aware of the death of a citizen in Tanzania.

According to The Advocate, the official said: ‘We offer our deepest condolences to the family on their loss. We honestly stand to provide all appropriate assistance.
“Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!’
However, Antoine Facebook’s post has garnered over 250 comments and 14000 reactions.
