Kevin Bacon’s ‘Six Degrees’ Campaign Lets People Share Who They’re Staying At Home For

Kevin Bacon has seized the opportunity to remind us that we are in fact all related. It must have been a while since you played the game of Kevin Bacon’s 6 degrees.’  The game challenges film and culture buffs in realizing the link between an arbitrary actor and the Footloose star.

Kevin knows all about it and over the course of the years has definitely poked fun out of it. Now he’s using it to remind us all why we’re distancing socially amid COVID-19’s spread.

Kevin took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the Six Degrees Initiative. He challenged those engaged in the social distance to share the person at the heart of why precautions are being taken.

He’s invited users to add six friends after posting a picture or video. For Kevin, he named wife Kyra Sedgwick has the major reason he’s staying at home. He then tagged to get this thing started with some heavy hitters: Demi Lovato, David Beckham, Jimmy Fallon, Elton John, Brandi Carlisle, and Kevin Hart.

Amid the COVID-19 Crisis, Kevin Bacon is doing his best to help. The star, 61, took to Instagram to question his fans. It draws from a beloved game which includes the actor himself, Kevin Bacon’s Six Degrees.

With Kevin Bacon’s Six Degrees, you pick a celebrity and find the means at which they are connected to the Footloose star in six degrees.  Kevin revealed that his new project makes us all part of the interconnectivity. It is named Six Degrees Campaign.

‘Hey everyone. It’s now very important to stay at home as well as keep a distance from others if you can. It’s one way we can all help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and save many lives. The more of us who can keep distance, make it safer for those who can’t.’ Kevin captioned his video.

He continued: ‘So, if you are at home like me, share a video or photo with this sign, telling me who you are staying home for and ask six of your friends to do the same. Share it with the hashtag #IStayAtHomeFor so I can see and share it. The more folks involved, the better.’

Responding, Elton John shared a photo, revealing he’s staying home for husband David Furnish and sons, Elijah and Zachary. David Beckham also posted his response, revealing he’s staying home for Victoria and Kids.

Actress Angie Bell also joined the action, saying she’s staying back at home for Grandma & momma, who are her angels.

Nevertheless, the hashtag campaign includes influencers all over the world and it’s not just about yelling out the ones who matter, but about reminding people. It’s also not just about individuals, but about whole communities that are at elevated risks.
