‘Joker’ Premiere Disinvites Interview Press On Red Carpet

It’s finally about time and don’t we just wish that Warner Bros. did this since last week. ‘Joker’ has been getting a lot of lashback by the press and media outlets who keep pressing on the people involved in the possibility of the movie to incite violence. Meanwhile, other movies that have typical anti-heroes characters portrayed as protagonists have been hailed.

Print and broadcast journalists are being prohibited from entering the premiere of ‘Joker’ at TCL Chinese Theatre. Only photographers get to capture the celebrities who will attend the premiere and the filmmakers.

The spokesperson of Warner Bros spoke to Variety, “Our red carpet is comprised of photographers only. A lot has been said about ‘Joker,’ and we just feel it’s time for people to see the film.”

With news of the controversial question that was thrown at Joaquin Phoenix beginning to raise worries, Landmark theater has prohibited anyone to come to the theater wearing makeup and/or costume like Joker. Family and survivors of the Aurora shooting in 2012 have also written a letter that shows their concerns to CEO of Warner Bros, Ann Sarnoff.

The letter is more inclined to urge people to stop supporting those who are against gun reform. In response to the letter, WB wrote “neither the fictional character Joker nor the film, is an endorsement of real-world violence of any kind. It is not the intention of the film, the filmmakers or the studio to hold this character up as a hero.”
