Johnny Depp Selling An NFT That Seemingly Calls Out Her Daughter Lily-Rose’s ‘Silence’
“Words become feeble.”
Johnny Depp has been working on his NFT (Never Fear Truth) project for a while now, and it’s a series of artworks drawn by the actor himself. But one of them had people wondering if Depp harbors any ill thoughts against Lily-Rose Depp, his daughter with Vanessa Paradis.
In the portraits included are people he deemed to play the biggest role throughout his life, such as Heath Ledger, Tim Burton, Al Pacino, and his daughter, Lily-Rose Depp.
If you haven’t been living under a rock, you know about the six-week trial between Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard and how he got out a winner.
The defamation lawsuit saw Depp presenting evidence to prove that he wasn’t the abuser, as Heard had insinuated in her op-ed for The Washington Post. On top of that, he’d been the abused one in the relationship and thus demanded Heard pay him compensation for the damages of being defamed.
Lily-Rose has been quiet about the issue and only shared about her 23rd birthday.

The comments heated up as they demanded that she testify in defense of his father.
And people soon believed that Depp had reacted to her silence with a portrait piece of Lily-Rose and the quote, “Silence, Exile, Cunning” on it.
This quote came from the novel ‘A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man’ by James Joyce, one of his favorite books to date. The same words can be seen on the actor’s forearm tattoo.
The original quote reads, “I will try to express myself in some mode of life or art as freely as I can and as wholly as I can, using for my defense the only arms I allow myself to use — silence, exile, and cunning.”
But those who have never read the book nor heard this quote quickly misunderstood the meaning behind the words.
Depp’s NFT works are all his handiworks, but a spokesperson clarified that the quotes were randomized, and that was how it happened.
“The pictures of Lily-Rose with those specific words are an unfortunate coincidence of the randomization, and we are working through our options to try to get them removed as quickly as possible,” explained the spokesperson.
They also deny any hostility between the two, as the spokesperson further added that “he loves and adores” his daughter and “in no way” would ever purposely portray her daughter in such light.
Speaking of his project, Depp said earlier this year, “I’ve always used art to communicate my sentiments and to reflect on those who matter most to me, like my family, friends, and people I admire.”
In another post, however, a portrait of hers was shared with the word “Graceful” on it.
Lily-Rose also defended Johnny back in 2016 when allegations of him being an abuser began. She wrote, “My dad is the sweetest, most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him, would say the same.”
A certain amount of the sales are shared with charities, and NFT owners are also allowed into a private community where they can be involved in more creative projects with each other.
“It’s a great privilege to be able to thank my fans and support the charities that have meant so much to my family. I’m hoping we can form a new friendship group around these NFTs. My involvement in the NFT space is only getting started,” shared the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star.
