Jennifer Lawrence Set To Star In Netflix’s Apocalypse Comedy ‘Don’t Look Up’

It is written and directed by McKay.

Netflix announced that they have acquired Adam McKay’s comedy project ‘Don’t Look Up’ and has attached Jennifer Lawrence to the project. The asteroid theme is written by McKay and will be directed by him as well.

It’s one Netflix’s aggressive project with plans of releasing it on its platform later this year. Shooting is planned to begin shortly in April. McKay said, “I’m so thrilled to make this movie with Jen Lawrence. She’s what folks in the 17th century used to call ‘a dynamite act.’ And the fact that Netflix sees this movie as a worldwide comedy sets the bar high for me and my team in an exciting and motivating way.”

The flick follows two ‘low-level astronomers’ who found out and tried to warn people about the impending crash of an asteroid that is approaching earth.

McKay’s comedic career begins with writing for ‘Saturday Night Live’ and then directing Will Ferrell’s comedies such as ‘Anchorman’. He also co-founded and co-starred with Ferrell in ‘Funny Or Die’. McKay and Lawrence are also tied together in another project based on the book ‘Bad Blood’ by John Carreyrou.
