Instagram Star Lexi Reed Came Home After Surviving A Near Organ Failure
$64,865 out of $200k goal has been raised.
Lexi Reed is a weight loss influencer with over 1.2 million followers who watched her journey in shedding over 300 lbs. The 31-year-old’s husband, Danny Reed, shared that she was admitted into the ICU due to organ failure and was not responsive in the trauma room.
Her husband shared what happened, “A few weeks ago, Lexi kept getting sick and couldn’t keep any food down. She then started acting differently, so I took her to the hospital where they admitted her into ICU, placed on a medically induced coma, on a ventilator, and (told) me that her organs started failing.”
“They also told me if I had waited, it’s possible she could have died,” he added. “She is currently in dialysis, can’t walk, and working on recovery.”
She’s since returned home, but she’s required to go through a 4-hour dialysis session three times a week.
Lexi shared, “I’m back home and ready to overcome the next part of this part of my story. Happy to be alive when it wasn’t seeming to be not possible, and I was unresponsive in the trauma room. Thank you to everyone for the love I’m already seeing today from the past month.”
A GoFundMe has since been started to help with the star’s medical expenses as they did not have insurance.
She’s reached over $64k and is looking at a $200k goal for her medical expenses. The couple shared that they’re looking into getting a kidney and liver transplant for Lexi.
The Instagram star shared a touching message after surviving the worst, “Love is all I can feel right now, and I can’t help but want to cry.”
“Between 4 family members helping me to even get in the car and into the house with stairs, lifting me and my chair, family bringing over medical supplies and visiting since they couldn’t be at the hospital and everyone here – I am blessed.”
“Thank you to everyone who wants to help as I listened and went ahead to set up a GoFundMe if you’d like.”

The couple has shed a total of over 400 pounds over two years through “meal prepping, tracking our calories and reading nutrition labels.”
They also have not revealed what caused Lexi’s condition to suddenly worsen in such a short time.
