This was Ellie Mae when she was brought to the shelter
The cute dog got a second chance to live after staffs of the Nebraska Humane Society (NHS) decided to heal her injuries and cut out her fur.
Ellie Mae had a lot of health issues at arrival
Her predicament started when her owner died and Ellie ended up not moving. Nevertheless, cleaning up Ellie Mae took a lot of time, but the major challenging aspect was assisting Ellie to gain her strength due to her several health problems, including arthritis, muscle wasting, and a hernia.
A particular Twitter User revealed that Ellie Mae looks like a Shih Tzu or a Shih Tzu breed.
Ellie Mae appeared unrecognized after the makeover
‘The challenging part in assisting Ellie Mae. She was extremely matted that we had to place her under to shave her. The medications to do that is based on an animal’s weight and we really couldn’t tell what she actually weighs. All three people making Ellie better were using blades that are used to prepare a surgical section. The entire process took over an hour.’ Pam Wiese, the NHS representative told Bored Panda in an Interview.
