Iggy Azalea Reveals How Britney Spears’ Team Wouldn’t Let Her Do Promo For ‘Pretty Girls’
While still bind to an NDA, Iggy Azalea has tried to help in her own way.
Remember that small “feud” that social media cooked up between Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears? After their collab that wasn’t as successful, Iggy decided to tweet about it, subtly hinting about the restraints that were put on Britney’s life then. As it turns out, the media was once again wrong about it.
Iggy and Britney’s collab on ‘Pretty Girls’ was not a flop with 180 million views on YouTube, but it wasn’t a hit either.
The ‘Kream’ singer later tweeted, “It’s difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances, etc. Unfortunately, I’m just featured.”
“I would have enjoyed performing it a lot. I think it got off to a powerful start, but you need content to compete in 2015.”
But people might still remember how the crowd reacted to this: violence.
One, Iggy did speak about it and yall dragged her for it so it’s weird now that y’all switched up. Secondly, Iggy has ALWAYS been a supporter of Britney so this was so unnecessary. https://t.co/qvUW5N9pXU

People thought Iggy was blaming Britney for the song not being a hit as they believed it should. As it turns out, what Iggy was trying to say was how Britney’s team refused to do promo for the song, and that’s it. It wasn’t supposed to be a hostile reaction to the song not competing with others on the chart back then.
A year later, Iggy talked about how Britney’s team searched her home before they worked together.
She told Andy Cohen on ‘Watch What Happens LIVE’ about it. “They came and checked my place to make sure I wasn’t trying to stash anything weird and, like, get it to her or something… to make sure I wasn’t a bad influence. And I’m not. I passed the test!”
Media played it that Britney was throwing shade at Iggy’s canceled tour when she tweeted, “Can’t wait to get back to Vegas. So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to… #YouWantAPieceOfMe.” We know better now.
