“I Was Kicked Off Jury Duty Because My Outfit Was ‘Inappropriate'”
“I was wearing a suit!”
An Australian woman was denied her jury duty when she arrived at the court dressed up in a lacy top that revealed her cleavage. She shared her frustration on TikTok, questioning how her clothing was “inappropriate” for the occasion.
In a fit of anger, Rosie, who goes by the name rosiezeppelin on TikTok, uploaded a clip of herself still wearing the same outfit she got kicked out in.
“When you get denied for jury duty for not wearing ‘appropriate’ clothes,” she wrote in the video with an eye-roll emoji. She captioned her video with her defense, “I was wearing a SUIT like what is so inappropriate???”
She was wearing a set of formal outerwear, but one could clearly look see what was underneath, which was crop top lace that showed much of her cleavage. She also wore a bright red shade of lipstick. The Perth-based woman was mouthing to the Australian mini sitcom ‘Ja’mie: Private School Girl’ dialogue.
Thousands watched her videos, and many agreed that she’d not worn her best to appear in court.
One of them wrote, “Please tell me you’re joking.”
“You’re not the main character in court. Hope this is a joke,” commented another.
One user snarked, “Imagine a lawyer wearing that. Or a detective. Or a teacher. Or a politician. Time and place. Some people were never taught how to be classy.”
Not long ago, Rosie had gone viral when she revealed that she was being paid hundreds of dollars for filming herself eating and smearing her lipstick all over the food for men. The vegan claimed that she’d been offered $1000, which included her preparing the food, eating, and roleplaying as if she were chatting with the viewer.
Was the suit fine, or should she have changed to a more appropriate attire?
