‘I Tattooed My Eyeballs Purple And Blue – Now I’m Going Blind’

Anaya Peterson was so interested in the possibility of tattooing her eyeballs after seeing Amber Luke, a tattooed Australian model, got hers inked. She didn’t listen to her daughter’s words for fear of her going blind and she only has regrets for not doing so now.

She shared with Kennedy News, “I was just going to get one [eye tattoo] at first, because I thought that if I go blind, at least I’ve got the other eye. I should have stuck with that. My daughter told me that I didn’t want to do that [the tattoo] asking, ‘What if you go blind?’ She wasn’t on board with it at all.”

Her daughter was 7 and she’s now hospitalized after inking her eyeballs to diagnose the reaction the ink had on her eyes. The woman from Northern Ireland added, “I don’t have 20/20 vision anymore. From a distance, I can’t see features on faces.”

“If I didn’t have my eyeballs tattooed, I wouldn’t be having this problem. Even today I woke up with more floaters in my eyes. And that is dangerous.”

The avid body modification mom shared that she initially didn’t have a problem after tattooing her right eye blue in July 2020. Aside from dryness and the occasional headaches, she thought it was a green light to get another inking session for her left eyeball half a year later.

By August 2021, she was waking up with swollen eyelids as if she’s just had “five rounds with Mike Tyson.” She soon got herself checked at the hospital when it didn’t go down by itself.

Doctors had her intravenous medication prescribed for her and took a biopsy. The mom shared her regrets, “I just wanted to be at home watching [TV] to be honest. I can’t even put it into words. It wasn’t nice at all whatsoever. It was traumatizing to go through. I just remember thinking, ‘I’m not doing that s**t again, with the eye tattoo. I’m definitely not doing that s**t again.’”

Now, she’s getting better, but she almost lost all of her vision. The mom continued, “I’m kind of recovered — on the outside, it’s recovered. It’s just inside. I’m basically on the verge of going blind.”

“If I could go back in time, I would have done one black [eye tattoo] and left it. I would have done one black. Absolutely.”

With all that’s said, she’s been keeping a positive outlook and told her daughter not to give trolls attention.

“I tell my daughter not to care about the opinions of someone else because they’re just ordinary people like you. You have positive comments and negative comments, but the negative comments always overshadow the positive ones.”
