Glamorous Wife Of Ukrainian Tycoon Caught Carrying $29 Million In Cash Through A Refugee Border Crossing
It’s claimed she was leaving the country to give birth.
Anastasia Kotvitska, the wife of a known Ukrainian tycoon and politician, has been caught red-handed carrying a huge sum of cash through a refugee border crossing into the EU. A criminal case has been launched even though her husband, Igor Kotvisky, once Ukraine’s wealthiest MP, has insisted that his wife was leaving the country to give birth.

All my money is in Ukrainian banks; I did not take anything out,” Kotvisky, 52, [pictured] said before shutting his social media.

Reportedly, Anastasia is said to be carrying the money in US dollars and euros and spotted by Hungarian customs. Notably, according to Obozrevatel Newspaper, the allegation is that she didn’t declare the huge sum exiting Ukraine at the Vilok checkpoint and had made a declaration she had brought the sum into Hungary, an EU country.

A statement from Kotvisky also carried the viewpoint of his Swiss-educated daughter Violetta, 24, who had said the whole story was fake and rumors. Currently, he controls via associates Nuclear Energy Systems of Ukraine and Uranium deposits in the country, which Russia has partially invaded.
Kotvisky and his wife Anatasia have close business and political links with ex-interior Minister Arsen Avakov.

However, this comes after a huge sensitivity in Ukraine that wealthy elites seek to take their fortunes abroad as the country’s fate hangs in the balance. There are also now calls for a criminal investigation into border guards at the crossing in the country’s Transcarpathian region, where it’s alleged a blind eye has been turned into cash.

Seyar Khushutov, a Kyiv businessman who exposed the Kotvitska case, said there was a tariff of bribes levied by customs officers enabling cash to leave the country. These illicit payments have amounted to between 3 to 7.5%, depending on the amount and level of the applicant. In other western regions, the situation is no better.
