First Down Syndrome Victoria Secret Model Sofía Jirau Compliments TV Host Adamari López
“Well, my next dream is to be like you.”
Sofía Jirau, the first model for the lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret with Down Syndrome, gushes over Adamari López, a TV host in a show she recently appeared in.
The Puerto Rican appeared in “Hoy Día” and shared her dream of opening more doors for fellow aspiring people with special needs.
The starstruck model shared more on her dreams and plans for the future with her idol.
“Well, my next dream is to be like you, a good actress in movies, and one day make a telenovela with you,” Sofía told the host. Lopez looked excited about an opportunity to work alongside the 24-year-old.
Sofía made headlines when she first walked the runway on New York Fashion Week, and her career had only continued to shoot up. As Victoria’s Secret had been eager to change their image and under heavy scrutiny for being one of the pioneers of toxic beauty standards, the confident woman joined their new lineup.
“I dreamed it, I worked for it, and now it is a dream come true. I can finally share my secret… I’m the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down Syndrome!” she shared the news on her Instagram.
She also shared that she’ll be celebrating her 25th birthday in Europe with her family in less than a week!
We are excited to see her going places and can’t wait to see even more of her in the future!
