Elon Musk is Living In A Tiny 375-Square-Foot Rented Home Worth Just $50k
A simple studio apartment lifestyle in SpaceX.
There is absolutely no reason why a billionaire like Elon Musk cannot splurge on mansions and enjoy a warm bath in his own jacuzzi overlooking California’s seaside view. But apparently, the world’s third-richest man has decided to live a less lavish lifestyle while keeping an eye on his SpaceX project.
He openly talked about renting his house in Boca Chica, Texas. A house that is worth around only $50,000.
In case people forget, Elon Musk once topped the ranking as the world’s richest before going down again. But he still has a net worth of $167.3billion, according to Forbes. The house he lives in is a modular house constructed by Boxabl.
Elon himself did not disclose the name of the company that made his house.
This is inside Boxabl Casita, a model similar to what Elon lives in.
However, musk fan blog Teslarati and the Houston Chronicle have reported that it is very likely to be Boxabl. Google Earth has also caught pictures of the prefab house on site.
Last November, Boxabl shares that they were building a unit for a “top secret” customer located in Boca Chica.
It was also the company’s goal to design and produce houses in mass. Speaking to New York Post, the company shared, “We want to make housing dramatically more affordable for the world.”
One of their model, the Casita, has been previewed to be used on Mars.

Elon Musk has also been selling his houses and real estate, with the last one listed last month. For 13 months, he had listed six different properties. In a tweet sent back in May 2020, Elon wrote, “I am selling almost all physical possessions. Will own no house.”
Elon shared that selling his properties was aimed to stop haters.
He told Joe Rogan on his podcast around a similar time he tweeted about selling his houses, “I think possessions kinda weigh you down. And they’re kind of an attack vector. People say, ‘Hey, billionaire, you got all this stuff.’ ‘Well, now I don’t have the stuff — now what are you gonna do?”
The last home he listed was an events house in California Bay Area. It is currently on sale at $37.5 million since June.
