The monthly child support is to be made retroactively from October 2021 until Angel turns 18.

Eddie Murphy has finally agreed to pay ex-Mel B $35,000 in monthly child support for their 15-Year-Old daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown. This decision comes two years after the Spice Girl filed papers requesting more financial assistance. In her filing in October 2020, Mel B had claimed her income decreased dramatically.

The AGT Judge had given birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown [pictured] on Murphy’s 46th birthday, April 3, 2007.

Her filing stated: “Until recently, Melanie has been fortunate in her career to sustain a comfortable lifestyle for herself and Angel. Unfortunately, Melanie’s income has dramatically reduced, such that she must consider modifying child support for the first time.” Reports at the time also said Mel B had attempted to resolve the case without court intervention but all to no avail.

Now, court documents show that Mel B and Murphy have agreed to a new child support arrangement.

Before this, the 61-Year-Old actor had been paying the British-born singer, who has two other daughters from previous relationships, the sum of $25,000 monthly and $300,000 a year since they settled their bitter paternity battle in February 2009. This new agreement stipulated on August 17 states the comedian will shell out an extra $10,000 a month.

The payments are to be made retroactively from last October until Angel turns 18. Murphy also agreed to cover Melanie’s attorney fees of $10,000.

The documents, as seen by DailyMail, reads: “The parties agree that Respondent [Murphy] is an extraordinarily high earner. The amount of child support set forth herein below has been calculated based on the reasonable needs of the minor child. Commencing October 1, 2021, as and for child support for the benefit of Angel, Respondent shall pay to Petitioner the sum of $35,000 per month.”

The document added that the child support should be payable via wire transfer and shall be on the first calendar day of each month.

However, the filing pointed out that Melanie will be responsible for add-on costs, which include extracurricular activities, educational expenses, and health insurance. It further states the agreement is a non-guideline child support order, meaning a material change of circumstances is not required for modification. Notably, Murphy’s reps, on June 22nd, 2007, had announced that a DNA test confirmed he was the father of Angel.

Initially, the comedian repeatedly refused to have anything to do with Mel or their child, with reports stating he insisted that she tricked him into getting pregnant.

But eventually, Murphy, who now has ten children with five different women, had a change of heart. On the other hand, Mel B, in her 2018 memoir, addressed her and Murphy’s messy split, writing it was thanks to his mother, Lillian Lynch, that Angel was reunited with her dad in May 2017 and the two currently have a close relationship.
