Katia Aveiro can’t help but call this World Cup the worst ever after seeing her brother, Cristiano Ronaldo, unable to carry the Portugal team to the finals in Qatar. The 45-year-old couldn’t help but feel disappointed after Morocco won in the quarterfinals.
Aveiro has also avoided praising Lionel Messi after Argentina’s win at the World Cup this year.
She shared on social media, “The worst World Cup of all time… that thankfully gave us a great final. What a match. Congratulations to Argentina.”
Instead of Messi, she’s instead praised someone else, “Kylian Mbappe. This boy is unreal. What a bright future awaits you. Incredible.”
Mbappe had won his team’s penalty kicks with his hat trick, and it was Messi that landed the winning shots. But Aveiro had decided to praise one and not the other.
There were discussions over if Ronaldo was walking away from the national team during the World Cup. But he stayed, and his sister has instead suggested that he return home to where “all the gratitude and not ingratitude” was given.
