Couple Left Embarrassed After Mistakenly Giving ‘Subtle Signal’ That They’re Swingers

When you get the extra nice thing, something is fishy.

Groups have their secret signs, but ever imagine what happens when someone neutral uses one of them by mistake? This is precisely what happened to a couple who attracted an increased amount of attention while on holiday. Why the little extra nice?

It got figured out, and it turned out Linda and her husband had given off the impression that they’re swingers with their matching pineapple swimsuits. Taking to TikTok, Linda explained that she thought it would be cute for her and her husband to rock the matching print.

Thanks to their matching pineapple swimsuits, Linda (pictured left) gave the impression that she and her husband are swingers while on a vacay.

However, she had no idea that the fruit ‘pineapple’ is often linked with swingers. In particular, the swimsuits were decorated with pineapples and appeared perfect for a vacay. “Thinking of wearing matching pineapple swimsuits with my husband on vacation because I thought it was cute,” Linda captioned her clip.

Linda had no idea it was a secret sign for swingers and felt it would be “cute” for her and her husband.

She added: “People were a little extra nice.” The clip has since amassed over 2million views, and fellow TikTok users were left in hysterics. Many people admitted they also had no idea of the pineapple’s symbolism. “I just realized I made my boyfriend wear a pineapple shirt, and I wore a pineapple dress while on vacation two years ago.” One user wrote.

People got a little very friendly with the couple, which prompted the figure out.

Another added: “Y’all wondering why you’re so popular.” While a third, suspected to be a swinger, made clarifications, stating: “We are lifestyle and have been for years. The pineapple thing is more of a joke. We certainly don’t assume and don’t approach random pineapples.” A fourth shared a similar experience: “Our group learned the same thing while in Hawaii recently; we had no idea.”

However, fellow TikTok users also had no idea of the pineapple’s symbolism:

According to a BuzzFeed article on hidden dress code meanings, couples wearing pineapple prints on clothing while on a cruise equally indicate keen swingers. Likewise, The Mirror Reported how the fruit is used as a signal, most commonly at a person’s home in the form of a door knocker. Are you aware the juicy fruit is used by people interested in swinging?
