Colin Farrell Looks Unrecognizable As The Villainous Penguin In First Teaser For ‘The Batman’
People thought Twitter is playing with them.
The teaser trailer has dropped and everyone knows it’s Robert Pattinson’s turn to play the dark knight. While previous adaptations of Batman tend to put the spotlight on one of the greatest villains ever created, Joker, Matt Reeves’ take bring in another classic notorious villain, The Penguin.

Let’s take a glance on Robert Pattinson in full Batman suit in the movie.
Batman movies tend to get darker and darker with each movie and adaptation. As the dark knight, Bruce Wayne is much more of a vigilante in Reeves’ and Craig’s writing than the philanthropist he was in ‘Justice League’. The Penguin is most recently acted by Richard Lord Taylor in ‘Gotham’ that aired from 2014-2019.
We also got a good glimpse of Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman on a split second action scene against Batman. The Aquaman actor’s daughter is also confirmed to become Robert Pattinson’s romantic interest in this movie.
We move on to a close shot of Pattinson’s scene where he looks like he’s tired of this all. A vigilante/detective is what Reeves was aiming for with his younger choice of actor for his Batman. This one-shot represents just how dark they want the movie to be and it’s… extremely dark.
But one of the most surprising things was that people didn’t see Colin Farrell… or more like didn’t recognize him at ALL.

When people think of Colin Farrell getting cast as Oswald Cobblepot, people thought he will play this one handsome, charismatic villain. But that makeup and prosthetics have really made him truly unrecognizable. It made some people into thinking that was Richard Kind in the trailer!
Movie is scheduled to drop in October 2021. Matt Reeves said, “We’ve only shot 25% of the movie but there was no way I couldn’t show part of the movie.”
