“Parkinson’s has brought people who are still coming in, but it’s a gift.”

‘Back to the Future’ reunion sent fans down memory lane last week. The stars of our childhood movies, Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox, arrive at New York Comic Con almost 40 years since the first movie played in theaters.

They were invited to the panel at Javits Center to reminisce about the days they spent filming the movie in a wholesome interaction.

61-year-old Fox said, “The best part of the movie was working with Chris.” He praised the senior actor as a “genius” and noted that filming was very smooth between them.

Fox recalled the “immediate chemistry” between them and called Lloyd the “King of Explosion.” Sadly, fans noticed how Parkinson’s disease was hindering Fox’s movement. The Canadian-American actor was diagnosed with the disease at the age of only 29.

He and Lloyd appeared to be excitingly talking about their old days as people cheered for them.

Llyod said, “The chemistry was there from the first scene we had, it was alive, and it remained that way for three movies. It hasn’t gone away, by the way.”

“Anytime I got to work with him [Chris], I knew it was gonna be a good day.”

Fox had Lloyd’s help when he got up and couldn’t balance himself well. People were shedding tears over how destructive Parkinson’s is, but also at how sweet they were.

Heartbroken users shared their personal experiences in the tweet. Steve Marchand wrote, “My father-in-law battled Parkinson’s for many years before passing away a few months ago. It’s brutal. The effort, determination & courage on display here by Michael J Fox brought me to tears. Massive respect for him.”

Another tweeted, “People in the comments keep saying it’s “so sad to see him this way.” about Michael J. Fox. I’m just so glad he’s still alive, fighting, with humor intact, and able to make it to another Comic Con. I’m not sad as long as he’s still here.”

Fox announced a second retirement that he isn’t scared of death and applies a very practical point of view in life.

He said, “I’m really blunt with people about cures. When they ask me if I will be relieved of Parkinson’s in my lifetime, I say, ‘I’m 60 years old, and science is hard. So, no. I am genuinely a happy guy. I don’t have a morbid thought in my head — I don’t fear death. At all.”

He makes “gratitude” his main goal in life and added, “If you don’t think you have anything to be grateful for, keep looking.”

He also brought up the Michael J Fox Foundation, which has since become the largest Parkinson’s disease foundation.

“Parkinson’s has brought people who are still coming in, but it’s a gift, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. People like Chris have meant so much to me, and so many of you have, too.”

He continued, “It’s not about what I have, it’s about what you’ve given me: a voice to do that and help people.”
