He’s still grateful.

Kevin Ford’s gift for his twenty-seven years of service at Burger King is going viral for the wrong reasons. The 54-Year-Old recently took to the internet to show off the bag content he gifted, which included a Starbucks tumbler, some pens, a movie ticket, Lifesavers candies, and mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

The cook/cashier at the BK in the Las Vegas airport is grateful but found the reward a little lackluster.

Notably, Kevin has been around long enough to know that pre-COVID, employees would get checks for their anniversaries with the company. That being said, he told HMS Host, the company from which Burger King hires, sent him what felt like the stuff they had lying around the office. Regardless, he’s thankful to have a job in these difficult times and doesn’t intend to throw shade at his company.

And thankfully, his daughter stepped up to express just how much he’s appreciated by launching a GoFundMe.

As he spoke of the fundraiser, Kevin reportedly got emotional, revealing it was for him to visit his grandkids in Texas. As of this time of writing, $33,785 has been raised, and Kevin has said he’ll use it to take a day off and possibly get a new car – an American and Hybrid. However, a spokesperson for Burger King told TMZ that Burger Kind and its many franchises nationwide are committed to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the thousands of people serving various roles.

A spokesperson for BK added they remain dedicated to providing their Guests world-class experience.

It continued: “Following review with this location’s franchisee, we’ve learned that this video depicts a Team Member in receipt of a peer-to-peer reward in recognition of a short-term positive performance/experience. The franchisee offers its Team Members a robust employee recognition program, which includes the recognition of tenure milestones and monetary awards.”
