Bruce Willis Speaks On Camera For The First Time Since Dementia Diagnosis
The actor gets praised for staying positive.
The actor has managed to remain in high spirits for his 68th birthday, which he celebrated surrounded by his beloved family. Bruce Willis, as seen in a heartwarming video, chatted, laughed with his loved ones, made hand gestures, and even lassoed motions while his family sang Happy Birthday.
He has been maintaining a low profile since his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis and spending quality time with his loved ones. It’s been a difficult year for Willis as the condition affects a person’s behavior, speech, and language.
But then he has proven to be strong, singing along with his family before blowing out his birthday candles.
“Happy birthday, BW! So glad we could celebrate with you today. Love you and love our family. Thank you to everyone for the love and warm wishes, we all feel them,” wrote Demi Moore in a post on Instagram. She joined Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis, and his children to celebrate the special day.
At a point in the video, Willis stumbled slightly while blowing out the candles on his birthday pie, but his family laughed it off and in turn, the actor appeared to be enjoying himself.
His fans have so far commended him for staying strong, positive, and engaged at the moment despite his health challenges. Someone stated: “Even the slight thing is the BIGGEST thing! Usually, when a person is suffering from frontotemporal dementia they don’t remember the significance of blowing out the candle. And he did it without being told to. I am so glad to see this! Happy Birthday, Bruce!”
Another fan applauded Willis and his family for making their blended family a priority, writing: “The decision to make your blended family a priority is what family dreams are made of! We love you, Bruce.”
Willis is yet to comment publicly on the video or his diagnosis but his family, loved ones and fans are clearly rallying around him with love and support. Besides, the video is a total reminder that even in challenging times, a family can bring joy, happiness, and meaning to our lives. The overwhelming response was indeed one of love and support for the actor.
However, some fans noticed that Willis appeared to be missing one of his front teeth.
