Billie Eilish Revealed She’s ‘Obviously Not Happy’ With Her Body In Her Recent Interview
“When I’m on stage, I have to disassociate from the ideas I have of my body.”
Billie Eilish is always open about her body insecurity and recently spoke up with The Guardian on the topic. The 19-year-old pop star has always been open about it and wore baggy clothes to stop people from judging her body. She had recently made another change to her look for a British Vogue cover.
She switched out her neon hair for platinum blonde and posed as a pinup girl.
One might think she’s had it better with her body, but alas, it’s not something she could get over with a couple of corsets. She shared, “I see people online, looking like I’ve never looked. And immediately, I am like, oh my God, how do they look like that?”
“I know the ins and outs of this industry and what people actually use in photos, and I actually know what looks really can be fake.”
“I’m obviously not happy with my body,” she added. “But who is?”
While she loves performing on stage, her fear of people’s eyes on her body stops her from wearing anything but non-fitting outfits, “When I’m on stage, I have to disassociate from the ideas I have of my body.”
“Because I have such a terrible relationship with my body like you would not believe, so I just have to disassociate… Then you get a paparazzi picture taken when you were running to the door and had just put anything on, and didn’t know the picture’s being taken, and you just look how you look, and everyone’s like, ‘Fat!’”
But she still strives to be comfortable being just themselves.
Billie shares similarities with her dad on “insecure” people who are too self-conscious about looking good in public. “It makes me so sad,” said Billie. “If you’re always standing a certain way, walking in a certain way, and always have your hair just so….”
