Amy Schumer Called Kirsten Dunst A Seat Filler, And People Responded
“Seat fillers, love them.”
The Oscars 2022 was a lot to take in. From historical moments made by Ariana DeBose with her Anita role to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, it’s so hard to take in all of these.
And recently, people have also been talking about Amy Schumer’s moment where she called Kirsten Dunst a “seat filler”.
Co-hosting with Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes, the stand-up comedian also got her own moment for her skit at the award event.
The comedian had returned after the hall was tense post-slap. But she melted it just fine with her slightly confused, “Did I miss something?”
She explained that everyone’s job in the hall that requires 2,700 attendees is appreciated. Including the seat filler, whose job is to keep seats filled when the guests have to leave for a moment for a toilet or any other issues. She then saw Kirsten Dunst and her husband, Jesse Plemons, and said, “Actually, let me just show you what the seat fillers do.”
Amy smoothly took the woman’s hand and prompted her to get up to leave the place, leaving the husband dumbfounded. Kirsten, in all the confusion, just stood up and laughed at the moment.
“Seat fillers, love them,” she remarked before sitting down next to her husband.
She hilariously complimented him for ‘Power of the Dog’, a movie which they both starred in.
To which the husband asked her, “You know that that was my wife?”
“You’re married to the seat filler?” Amy asked in shock which received a hilariously small ‘yeah’ reply from the husband. She then proceeded with her announcement.
Despite it being an obvious skit, several people took it seriously and brought it to social media to protest against it.
