Amber Heard’s Trial “Fake Crying” Is Being Judged Hard By The Internet

It’s been huge on the internet ever since Amber Heard took the stand on the first day. A number of comments have been slamming the actress for her “fake crying” on the stand while recalling some emotional moments.

Viewers have slammed the moment as “cringe” and that she was a “bad actress” for supposedly not shedding a single tear.

While it’s easy to label these people as fans, actors and body language experts have shared their thoughts.

Meredith Bull, a TikTok user with over 1.8 million followers, has been acting since she was 7. She takes professional classes and shared that when you’re in the world of acting, it’s vital to “study human behaviors, to nail down the tiny little moments.”

“Watching Amber’s testimony from an actor’s perspective, I noticed some very interesting things,” shared the actress. “What I saw today was like [a] massive performance to the jury; ‘Do you believe me?! Do you believe me?! Do you believe me?!'”

She admits that while everyone has their own way to express themselves, it’s worth considering that she’s an actress. She pointed out she’s constantly being “so big” and “trying to get eye contact with every juror,” something feels off.

“Anytime I’ve recalled trauma, I’m not trying to see if every person is making eye contact with me,” said Meredith. “If anything, I’m probably shying away from eye contact because it’s such a vulnerable, personable moment, especially what she was talking about, which is abuse.”

Many jumped onto the comment section to share similar thoughts. One wrote, “It felt unauthentic and performative, even nonsensical at times.”

Another pointed out, “Her body language too… She was way too comfortable for a victim of abuse retelling their most traumatic moments!”

One user commented, “Johnny was recalling facts, Amber was doing a performance. Like, it was like I was watching a court movie…”

“Also, she claims she got PTSD; why was she staring at JD all the time???” read another observant viewer.

Body language expert Patti Wood also shares her thoughts on the reason she made constant eye contact with the jurors.

Wood told The Post that she may have been told to do so to create a connection with those who were there and said, “Eye contact creates connection and more empathy.”

However, because she’s an actress, it’s even harder to judge because “there was a consistency between her words and her body language.” Unfortunately, the biggest gap that she couldn’t fill in was the no-tear scene.

Reps from both sides have been shooting each other, with Depp’s side saying Heard was delivering “the performance of her life.”

Heard’s rep did not wait before responding to their statement and said, “As evidenced by the statement just released, Mr. Depp’s defamation claim is falling apart so rapidly that his counsel are turning from prosecutor to persecutor.”

“They boast that Mr. Depp’s story has not changed. If so, since he lost the domestic violence restraining order and he resoundingly lost the libel case in the UK, perhaps he should consider a new strategy rather than the recycled approach of attacking the victim and refusing to take responsibility for his own conduct.”
