A Gorilla Born With A Unique Patch Of Pigment On Her Fingers Surprising Everyone

This baby girl scares people with her pink fingers.

Anaka the gorilla recently threw her 6th birthday at Zoo Atlanta and to commemorate the occasion, some employees snap pictures of her uploaded them on Facebook. Most people were sending her best wishes, but observant users did more than that – they noticed that she had unique fingers.

The uniqueness is that Anaka’s fingers had unique pink pigments on her a patch of her hand. Close-up pictures surprise people as her fingers looked so human that many were simply recalled at how similar humans are to primates, even though they are still categorized as animals.

To top that off, primates have also been known to have toenails and fingernails as well as unique fingerprints and toeprints. The zoo also described that Anaka is also a unique fella, “[She’s] often barking at her mom and others to get a prime spot for food and juice. She is often seen riding piggyback on her brother and sisters.”

Some people think she ha vitiligo, a skin condition where patches of skin lose skin pigment.

When asked, the zoo doesn’t confirm if it’s vitiligo, simple saying, “Her skin pigment has always been like that and hasn’t changed over the years, so we think it’s just a cool birthmark.”
