Train up a child in the way he should go!

An anxious mother turned up unannounced to sit in her son’s Year 8 maths class in a bid to stop him from being rude to teachers.

Becky Crandley, 30 walked down into Sittingbourne Community College in Kent and immediately sat beside her son Harley, 12 as part of a ‘surprise experiment.’

Harley had been expressing signs of bad behavior since 2018 and when he returned back to school in September, the mother witnessed no changes.

His mother threatened to sit down next to him in class in order to change his attitude. Becky however, did take matters into her hands after receiving messages from his teacher about two incidents that have got him into trouble.

Becky explained to Kent Live: ‘It’s all started in 2018 with his behavior change. I understand it’s part of growing up, but his disrespect and rudeness, I cannot stand.’

Right after being in contact with the school, she requested to come and sit with Harley during his maths lesson. The school agreed and there she turned up at the school gate on a Friday afternoon.

‘I constantly threatened that I would sit with him in school if needed and he had always laughed it off. He didn’t just have a clue and he was very embarrassed for sure. Most especially when I was introduced as his mum.’ The mother-of-five explained.

Shared on Social Media, Becky added: ‘ Many individuals around me know that I am a big softy when it comes to my children, but I can be straight up and difficult when it comes to teaching them the right way of life. if only I could get a photo of his face when I visited his school and sat down next to him, Harley went so red and there’s nothing compared to it.’
