Melanie, 32, from Perth, had founded Canva, a Sydney-based digital graphic business with finance, Cliff Obrecht in the year 2014. The digital company expanded to Beijing and Manila in just 5years, with Ms. Perkins growing up a personal fortune estimated at $1.3billion.
Canva improved in recognition when people started working from home amid the pandemic lockdown. Reportedly, a lot of people turned to the software and now Ms. Perkins stands at a $2.5 billion worth, making her the 3rd richest woman in Australia.
Following Vicky Teoh, who worth $2.6billion and Gina Rinehart, who worth $16.25billion, Canva is presently a worth of $8.77billion after raising $87million in its recent investor round from available shareholders, including China’s Sequoia Capital and Australian company Blackbird Ventures.
Prior to this amazing development, Ms. Perkins had revealed she dreamt of the concept for a graphics design business from her mom’s couch amid studying a 1st-year digital media subject at a University in 2005.
