Vanessa Bryant Pays Emotional Tribute For Husband Kobe And Daughter Gianna
“God knew they couldn’t be on this earth without each other.”
#KobeFarewell has got everyone crying in tears, not even the manliest man survived this night. After the tragic accident that took the life of all nine people on board, including Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, it was never the same for Vanessa and her four kids anymore.
A memorial for the basketball star is held at Staples Centre, California. Friends pay their tribute in their own ways as Beyoncé performed ‘XO’ and ‘Halo’ for opening and Michael Jordan plays as assist and guided Vanessa on stage.
Vanessa paid a beautiful tribute for her late husband and daughter.
She said, “We didn’t get the chance to teach her how to drive a car. I won’t be able to tell her how gorgeous she looks on her wedding day. Gianna would have been an amazing mommy. She was very maternal ever since she was really little. Gigi would have most likely become the best player in the WNBA.”
She continued about her husband, “A couple weeks before they passed, Kobe sent me a sweet text and mentioned how he wanted to spend time together. Just the two of us without our kids because I’m his best friend first.”
“We never got the chance to do it.”
She added, “I’m so glad that Kobe heard KoKo say, Dada. He isn’t going to be to drop Bianka or Capri off at kindergarten, be here to tell me to get a grip or show up to doctor visits for my own moral support. He won’t be able to walk our girls down the aisle, spin them around the dance floor singing PYT to me.”
“God knew they couldn’t be on this Earth without each other. He had to bring them home to have them together. Babe, you take care of our Gigi. I got Nata, Bebe, and KoKo.”
The show is also followed by Michael Jordan’s and Shaquille O’Neal’s who recall their moments with Kobe. Christina Aguilera performed Ave Maria and Alicia Keys performed Vanessa’s favorite, Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”, which Kobe played for her as he memorized the song by ear.
