The owner of the land where it was discovered and the founder of the nugget are keeping their identities secret due to its scale
Found using the method of snipping, which witnesses gold hunters lying their face down in a river while wearing a dry suit and a snorkel, the British enthusiast discovered that larger part first. It weighed 31Oz before discovering the other which weighed 1.1Oz late on.
Mr. Palmer added: ‘The man threw the bigger piece in his bucket with the rest of his stuff and he knew it was big but didn’t realize how big it was. He discovered the 2nd nugget 30 centimeters away and placed in his bucket as well. It wasn’t until a couple of days later he had a look at them and discovered how big they were and how they had fitted together.’
