A lot of us (humans) struggle when starting the day without a cup of coffee or tea in the morning, and a police horse is no exception.
The 20-year-old Jake, (Police Horse), serving with the Merseyside Police for almost 15years now has picked up a love for sugary tea. Sticking his tongue in his rider’s cup daily, the staff of Merseyside police mounted section including Jake in their tea round.

Officers revealed that Jake since then will wait in his stable in Allerton, Liverpool for his mug to be brought to him before starting the working day. The pampered police horse takes his tea with two heaped teaspoons of sugar, skimmed milk and a mixture of cold water.

‘Jake is one of the twelve horses we have got at the stable working with us. I would describe Jake as a horse with a lot of character. We all have learned his order and he deals with one sugar. But happier when you give him two.’
