Couple Who Won £3 Million Dream Mansion Put It On Sale For £4 Million Just Weeks Later

The Omaze Cornwall House winner for a dream mansion has put up the home for sale just weeks later. Uttam Parmer, 58, and his wife Raki, 53, however, decided to let the house go after determining that they didn’t fit well with the neighborhood.

The home is a four-bedroom Cornwall house, won from entering the Omaze Million Pound House Draw.

The beautiful estate features a breathtaking backyard view of nature and the lake. Omaze covers the stamp duty and legal fees of gifting the house and, on top of that, an extra £50,000 in cash for the couple.

Eight weeks later, the couple moved back to their home in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. Their new house was listed at £4 Million on RightMove.

The couple was initially excited about the home that was located in the same complex as celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. But the upkeep of the mansion was not worth it, and the couple decided to return to their old home as millionaires.

They explained to DailyMail, “It is a fantastic house in a beautiful Cornish location, but the price of it comes with a price to keep it, and we can’t afford to. We are selling it and not keeping it as a holiday home.”

“We considered moving there and staying there, but with all the costs et cetera, it was a lot. So we decided to sell it.”

Uttam continued, “I’m quite a normal guy, there’s some celebrity neighbors, but I’m not in that showbiz league. It would be nice to meet a celebrity in the neighborhood, but we’d be a bit out of our depth.”

It is an eco-mansion featuring recycled newspaper as the insulation, a green roof with a suntrap terrace, and reuses water.

Uttam, the winner, has been entering the prize draw a few times before finally winning it this year. He spoke after winning the jackpot, “I’ve entered every Omaze Draw since they started, so patience really is a virtue.”

“I’ve always considered myself a lucky person, firstly because of my wonderful family – but I’ve also won a few bits such as a TV and coffee table – which I was pretty happy with to be honest – I never dreamed I’d win anything as extravagant as a three-million-pound-house though!”

Uttam and Raki are now multi-millionaires and helped Blood Cancer UK to raise funds for researching blood cancer.
