Mom Gets Flamed After Bleaching 5yo Daughter’s Hair In A ‘Special And Fun Bonding Moment With Daughter’
Was there a need to take this video so offensively?
It’s so easy to be judged on the internet for anything you do, even something that should’ve been innocent and wholesome, like bonding time with your daughter. Demi Lucy May Engemann is a social media influencer who loves making momtok content. The self-proclaimed “CEO of cool mom” recently had the internet split when she showed her daughter getting her hair bleached.
Demi shared that her daughter, Maude, wanted pink hair, so she took her for a bleaching session to turn her hair blonde. That way, she “could put pink in it.”
She added that they skipped school for this appointment and showed a clip of the little girl getting excited during the process! What an adorable little bean!
It has since reached 16 million views, and the content was filled with criticisms from people who think she had set the daughter’s future to ruin.

And the fun part was everyone claims they’re commenting for the sake of the little girl. The girl who wanted pink hair herself.
Maude was brought to a professional saloon, and if anyone has gone to get their hair bleached, they know how long it can take, which explains why she had to skip school.
Maude’s dad also loved the result and cheered on her. He “didn’t recognize” her and hilariously walked by.
The gorgeous little girl showed off the transformation after the bleaching.
While they were excited, Demi was not tolerating the heavy criticisms that claimed she was doing the most evilest thing ever by bleaching her daughter’s hair.
“I’m honestly exhausted from commenting back to mom shamers and trolls in the comment,” wrote the woman in a follow-up video. “That’s never okay. You can disagree, that’s fine. But the minute that name calling starts or mom shaming starts based off one decision that you disagree with – that’s where I’m going to put an end to that.”
Demi then shared the backstory of why Maude wanted pink hair, “So she came home from school one day and told me that she had a friend who had purple in her hair and she was just really excited. She’s super into unicorns right now and Barbies. And she said that she wanted to have a color in her hair.”
“So we went to the store and we got a temporary pink shampoo. We washed it in her hair, she was super excited. But then after a couple days, she was like, ‘I can’t see it, it’s not showing up like my friend’s.'”
“I explained to her that the reason her friend’s were showing up so potent was because she had blonde hair. And that’s when she expressed to me that she wanted to put blonde in her hair so that the color would show up better,” she continued.
Maude’s dad also agreed to let her get the bleaching as long as she was taken to a professional. The family set an appointment for her, and it just so happened to be just a week before their family photoshoot session! She explained, “So that’s why she doesn’t have the pink in her hair yet.”
“So to those of you jumping to conclusions, saying, ‘Oh, this was my decision,’ and that I wanted her to be blonde in my family photos, that simply is just not true. I would never put that on my daughter and make her feel like she needs to change anything about herself.”
