Arnold Schwarzenegger Refused To Support His Son Financially After He Finished College
Baena is now fully involved with real estate.
Joseph Baena followed his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s footsteps in many ways. But the 24-Year-Old turned to a different career path to make ends meet right after he graduated college, especially as his financial support ended. While Baena is an aspiring actor and a bodybuilder, he has moved into real estate to support himself.
He underwent an internship at Los Angeles realty firm ARIA properties, and as he discovered his love for the real estate thing, Baena is still there to this day.
“I’m really grateful that my dad helped me get through college. But right when the college was done, it was just like, ‘You go. You’re on your own.’ I was like, ‘Oh, s**t.’ So yeah, I needed a job, and I was not getting any of the acting roles that I thought I was going to get, and like starting to get paid,” Baena told Essentially Sports.
He added: “I was like, ‘I need to do something’, and so I started interning at this real estate company.”
“I went in there. I was like, ‘I want to just learn as much as possible while making some kind of income. And then I enjoyed it and was like, ‘Oh, I think I can do this pretty well. So, I got my license.” This comes as Baena has also opened up about why he has chosen not to take on Arnold’s surname. He had told Inside Edition: “Well I already have a last name, and I don’t have a problem with my last name. I like my last name.”
Beana is the son of Arnold and the Schwarzenegger family’s former housekeeper Mildred Baena.
Mildred reportedly got pregnant with him when Arnold’s ex-wife Maria Shriver was expecting their fourth child, news that didn’t emerge publicly until 2011. In his interview with Men’s Health, Baena revealed how the news of his A-list father started to spread in high school. He was in eighth grade at the time.
He said of a scene: “Fifth or sixth period. And I get called out of class to leave. And my mom’s there and she’s like ‘We gotta go – everyone is finding out about you and who your father is.”
